Unless you put your panels under trees and have to clean sap off them, plain water (or DI water for a rinse) is the thing to use. Panel Mfgs do not suggest anything other than water to clean with.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

Solar Panel Clean Solution Solved - Toronto.
I just want to say living in Toronto is a challenge when you have to clean the solar panels. I have many birds that leave their mark(s) all over the glass panels. I have a lot of trees in the area that deposit a oily greasy resin that sticks to the panels and makes it hard to clean. I have been using a green product from Toronto, that de-greases the oil and tree sap, bird poo and dirt. I can not walk on the roof to clean, so I fill up my son's super soaker and spray down the panels and use a scruber brush then water to clean my panels. Here in Toronto, every little bit helps and the output from the solar panels increases. Well worth the time spent to clean the panels.Comment
