    Alternatives to Generac PWRView?

    Hello!

This year, we decided to have a solar power system installed on our home. Of the vendors we reviewed, and after talking with neighbors with other solar installations, we opted for the Generac system; arrays, inverter and PWECell batteries. All in all, the system is working well and we are generating sufficient power to both power our home and sell the remainder back to the grid.

We have the PWRView app installed on our mobile devices, which is nice but not entirely comprehensive. I use the PWRView dashboard through the Generac URL to pull the actual system data to calculate how much power we have generated for a given billing cycle This enables me to determine if we are at or below the energy consumption for the same time frame prior to the installation. Generac is shutting down the URL after the end of this month.

Are there alternative apps that will work with the Generac system that may offer similar data?

    Thank you,
    Rade

I would not be happy with that situation, and it is unlikely any app would have access to the data of what is a proprietary system.

I assume you have raised your concerned with Generac and asked them if they plan to at least offer a data download solution...
You should also ask them if they will offer an API that would allow someone with minimal programing skills to pull the data in a separate program.

"Your call is very important to us. Please stay on the line for the next available customer service representative..."

I had not thought about an API. I'm an old Linux hack, and I know the PWRCell inverter OS is Linux. ....I had thought I retired...

      Thanks,
