Need advice on upgrading PV system

    Hi
I already have a single phase 3KW solaredge inverter/system for the last 8 years and its been working flawlessly.
I am going to upgrade to a 7kw system (add anothe 4KW) panels.
My house is threephase and i have 2 options.

Either add an extra 3 phase 5kw inverter OR remove the solaredge and install an 8KW with 2 strings, one for the old panels and one for the new.
Shading is minimal early in the morningvand late afternoon.

    What would you do.
Im opting for Huawei inverters in botj cases.

If cost is similar then I would pick 2 smaller ones to avoid a single point of failure. Are you in Europe? In the US, SolarEdge warranty replacement can take a long time and Huawei likely even worse.

      Im in Europe.
My only concern is the i will be having 3kw in one phase and the extra 4kw on all 3 phases thus loading a single phase more and not being able to utilize all 3 phases to charge an EV.
Although im not sure how this will work in realtime.

Given your current setup and desired upgrade, it is likely more cost-efficient to install a 3 phase 5 kW inverter rather than replace your existing solaredge inverter/system with an 8 kW one. The 3 phase 5 kW inverter would allow you to add the additional 4 kW worth of panels and still keep your existing system intact. Also, if shading is minimal early in the morning and late afternoon as you've described, then it should be sufficient for your power needs.
