SolarEdge 7600H stopped working any resetting I can try

I noticed today my system has not generated power since March 21, confirmed looking at PG&E and the solaredge monitoring website

    Inverter is a SolarEdge 7600H.

I'll be calling in tomorrow morning, but I was wondering if there anything I can do as an end user.

The front panel is working and is in night mode ( and it is night time). I think I read somewhere these can get stuck in night mode.

It's been working well since May 2018 when it was installed.

If it matters I have 24 Panasonic panels of the same vintage.

    tnx in advance,

    Dan

Shutoff all the disconnects to it then turn back on during the day. Might get lucky.

Hi Dan-H - This thread caught my eye. I am just exploring the possibilty of installing solar but I am interested in the actual level of maintenance that's needed. A house caught fire just the other day caused by squirrels chewing solar panel wires. Luckily damage was limited to 2 panels. EnergySage told me critter guards should have been installed. A friend of mine chimed in that critter guards will be collecting leaves and other debris and need periodic tending. I read a suggestion that each basic cleaning visit might run $200-$300 depending. I can imagine up here in the Northeast the visit be more $ than that.

Dan will your service call be covered under warranty or will you have to wait and see what they say. Fingers crossed for you!

That is a significant reason my panels are ground mounted, yes
I know not always possible. Mine did kill a deer once, no fire.

installed in May 2018. covered under warranty. Triage was done remotely. I

I've only cleaned the panels once, and it did not make a noticeable difference in power generation. For me the rains of winter are my annual cleaning. The one year I got up to hose them off was after some local wildfires left ash everywhere.

Glad they got you up and running.

Sorry, should have worded that better. I'm not yet up and running yet. RMA has been requested and is in progress. I plan to follow up with SE tomorrow to get shipping status, and then it needs to be installed. All of this is covered under my warranty.

I need to re-read how long what parts are covered in case this happens again.

edit: Install scheduled for Thursday. The replacement inverter arrived at my installer today.

Not bad turn around, once I noticed this thing had died.
I reported it down on 4/12
Installer got back to me a day later on 4/13 ( over a day for a callback seems slow...)
                  Inverter arrived on 4/18
                  Replacement planned on 4/20

                  30 days without generating power

Glad your system is going to be up and running soon. I should clarify my post above about cleaning. I and my skeptical retired contractor friend were concerned about the fire of course, and also the squirrel bringing or importing debris to nest under the panels. Then the critter guard solution itself that would act a trap for leaves and twigs possibly creating a place for snow and ice to build up and potentially lead to an ice dam which we all fear here up north. But he's the catastrophic thinker. I see the issue but don't expect it's that serious, just an annoyance to keep in mind.

Operational update. Tech arrived on time and promptly installed the replacement inverter. He updated firmware and given it was around 2pm all panels had sun on them and he said all were generating power.

30 days w/o generation will add a bit to my power bill, but it is what it is.

I was under the (mis)understanding that my system was monitored externally and that the hardware failure would have been noticed, alerted on and I would be contacted.

My take away is I need to automate monitoring. I'll do some research and if I have questions I'll start a new thread.

                      Cheers !

Thanks for the clarification. I'm going to review the wiring from the panels more closely. I have some active squirrels, and my main concern is them chewing on any exposed wires.

I'm fortunate to not have a lot of leaves on the roof where the panels are mounted, yet I'm sure leaves get up there and blow away.

Yup. No monitoring. I found that out the first time I lost generation for two weeks in July one year many, many years ago. I then made sure I checked the system frequently.

We had sold that house, and bought another in 2021, and after installing another SE system, I talked the installer into giving me an token to access the Solar Edge API for my site. I wrote an app that monitors the system every 10 minutes and texts/emails me, if there is a fault. That way, I can call the installer to get things checked out quicker.

If you have some programming skills and an installer who can give you access to your system, you can do the same thing. The API is pretty easy to use.
