Sorry no pretty pictures but today was a great day for solar on my pole mount array. Its coming up on the solstice in few weeks but I keep the angle at 30 degrees off vertical this time of year due to snow build up (44.38 deg latitude). I got fresh snow yesterday on top of recent snowpack so nice white snow to reflect extra light on the array. Temps in the mid twenties to 30 F with a light breeze keeps the panels cool and close to zero clouds until this afternoon. No leaves yet so I get sun for 10 1/2 hours. My inverter is just 2 KW so it clips on a 15 year old 2100 watt array on rare occasions and today it was clipping for a couple of hours. Hard to beat. Might have been a record production day but high clouds moving in this afternoon in advance of 8 to 12 inches of snow tonight into tommorrow. Up in the mountains the snow hangs around after a storm so I expect not a lot of production tomorrow but the forecast for next week looks like similar weather so I will be keeping an eye on it.
I generate a surplus over my annual usage so I run a minisplit in the fall and in the spring to avoid building up too much of a surplus. I am on a grandfathered net metering program with no true up date unless I want to get paid wholesale so I just carry it forward. Last bill had about 1000 KW surplus and from now on it just goes up until September.
My other 2 KW array is on my roof and its closer to 60 degrees plus it had some hard to melt snow this morning that took a few hours to melt off.
