    the behavior of solar panels

    hello all engineers and technicians

from what i understood of solar panel behaviour , is that it acts most of the time as a current source !,

merly at the end of battery charging the battery resistance will be so high that the panels will stop acting as currrent source.

if it wants to continue it then have to produce very large voltage to keep pushing the current.

so it will stop and its voltage will appear across the battery at that stage a pwm controller does chops this voltage up in way to controll it , and not allow it to be higher

than 14vdc , and in the same fashion at float stage pwm controller adjusts the pwm pulses again to allow the panel to produce 13.6 float voltage

so now the question .....if the battery was 12vdc 100 amp and if we have 2 panels one 8a @50vdc and one 8a @21vdc they will both act as current source in the

"current stage charging" ...the only diffrence is that once the battery near full the 50vdc one willl produce harmful voltage whcich will destroy the battery

ofcourse i made an assumption that the panels in my question charge the battery directly without a solar charger ?

my second question is that if by some means we keep the battery in current stage, then that panel of 50vdc will actually charge the 12 volt battery .

one way is to put a load that is slightly higher than the charging cababilties of the panel , locking the panel and the battery in the current charging mode forever

    thanks in advance

With PWM controllers, panel voltage will drop to battery voltage. There is no regulation other than the PWM controller will shut off. When a 50V panel is connected in parallel with a 21V panel, the 21V panel will absorb the power and create heat. Panels conduct electricity when they see voltage a little over open circuit voltage.

You never understood i mean .... i never mentioned that i will connect both 21 And 50 panel together i mean that We connect them one panel each time ...my question was If .at current mode both will behave the same or not ؟ Simple as that

You are correct. I hardly understand what anyone says on solar forums. Both panels will be limited by the Isc at that level of illumination.
