I was having the same issue and this morning I clicked on "remember me" after entering my username and password and I think it might have fixed the issue.
Actually I thought it would be in the Settings but I have not found mine yet either.
I really don't know why you are being logged out. I know that when I log in I make the choice to stay logged in although that may only be an option for Moderators.
