I have not seen the details of the new federal plan but one source said it may take place at the point of sale. N that case it may resemble a rebate. I have an order for a new EV which is scheduled for sometime between November 2022 and January 2023. Depending on effective date and final price I may get an effective reduction in cost. Either way the value is there for me. By then I will have done the investigation and read the fine print.
I am just saying that a number of EV manufacturers will not meet the tax credit restrictions so a customer will not get anything off the price. Also the manufacturers (like Tesla) have already exceeded the allow number of "credits" allowed for EV sales. People just need to investigate and ask a lot of questions to know what their new vehicle actually costs them.

One of my favorite sayings is, "Trust, but verify." So far enough of your factual" statements I have not been able to verify. Furthermore, when I have asked you for verification, none has been forthcoming. If you want credibility, you have to earn it.
Your are entitled to your own facts, but for the benefit of other readers I will continue ask the tough questions.
As Tesla continues to diversify its suppliers, Panasonic, its main battery supplier in the U.S., is building a $4 billion electric vehicle battery factory in Kansas as a route toward competing in the increasingly competitive field of EV batteries and ease off its dependence on the EV pioneer.

And how long will it take to put those US made batteries in EV's that can get a tax credit?

Remember I said Tesla is no longer eligible for their EV's to get a credit due to them already exceeding the limit per existing Fed rules.

I don't know about the other manufacturers but it only takes a day to ship battery packs from Nevada to Fremont California for Tesla to put them in vehicles as they have been doing for the past several years.
I have not read the new rules to see if the caps that GM and Tesla exceeded will be reset with the new rules. Do you know?
I have heard some speculation that the new rules will have a price limit and that may be the challenge for Tesla. Currently the Chevy Bolt uses LG Chem batteries made overseas and I don't know if there are plans to change that.

I also haven't read what the new rules state or not. But for now the old rules show Tesla and GM exceeding the number of EV's that get any credit.

My concern is when the US starts to actually make an EV battery which may take a while if the plants haven't been even built yet.

That is probably reason number 34, why you won't be buying an EV.

LOL. Mostly because there aren't any affordable EV trucks being sold which would be what I replace my Tundra.
