Little help on panel and grid tie

So my small 480w system has been running fine for near two and a half years but the cheap grid tie has given up the the closest one i can find for sale is this one most of the ones for sale hear are a month in the post to get hear

I am not sure where you live but that inverter is not allowed in the US even if you can purchase it on Amazon.

I know its a bit iffy Im in the UK its been running 2 years on the old grid tie but its stopped working still charging the battery bank hear but what was over went into my ring hear and just need a replacment Grid tie that i dont have to wait a month for and did not know if that one was up to the job on 4 of them panels

I understand what you are looking for but IMO any plug in type inverter is dangerous unless you have a dedicated overcurrent device connected to it. The reason it is illegal in the US is due to insurance and UL listing reasons.

I am not sure where you can find a replacement but please make sure it is a quality one and not a cheap knock off that can over heat and fry.

Thanks for what you are saying i under stand what you are on about. the inverter i had is similar to the one I'm looking at but the old one was only 600w and took 11v to 36v i ran it at 4 panels on 12v this one I'm looking at is 1000w and runs at 24V 30V 36V PV Panel so i would need to switch the panels to two series then parallel them for 24v on the best day of the year the panels never make more than 380w they face east

I would recommend getting some used Enphase microinverters that will work with 72 cell panels, then wire two in series and have each 2x series power one inverter. They are far safer than the no-name Chinese stuff, and they can be used in an approved system. And used they will be about the same price as a new Chinese inverter. You can get used IQ7+ Enphase microinverters on Ebay for about $60 each.
