Good connection with Sunny Portal, but KWh not logging or accumulating...

Pretty frustrated, I'm a solar installer in Belize and I've put in about 20 SMA grid-tied products thus far.....this is the first one which I'm having this issue with. I believe I set it up like all the others....but maybe I'm missing something simple. The inverter is talking with Sunny Portal just fine, but it is not logging the accumulated power and graphing it on the Portal (it is graphing it on the inverter directly). Any suggestions?

Ya, it is just slow. Takes hours or days sometimes. And the more marginal your WiFi signal, the worse it gets. RSSI of 50% is about the botom of what works at all. Need at least 75% to get good monitoring.

Thanks solarix, I thought the same thing at first, so we plugged it into the client's ethernet.....but same result. And this is after waiting almost two weeks....I'm at a loss.....

miahallen , according to your settings, you have autoupdate turned on and are currently on Rev. 3.01.25R.

The SMA america website shows a new firmware version 3.02.13R available. Rev 3.02.13R says to upgrade to 3.01.24R, run the inverter for 5 minutes, then upgrade to 3.02.13R. There is no mention of 3.01.25R. I find it odd that your inverter did not update the firmware with autoupdates turned on.

I have a -40. In the past when my inverter was acting abnormally after initial install, under SMA tech support recommendation, I updated the inverter with the same firmware version and witnessed firmware successful completion, then turned off auto updates. This fixed my problem of random inverter reboots.

I'm not saying you should update the firmware, but I think a call to SMA support would be in order to find out if 3.01.25R is unstable or has known issues. And would the upgrade from 3.01.25R to 3.02.13R work the same as 3.01.24R to 3.02.13R?

Get to the highest level of tech support (level 3 I think). The point is that you don't have access to rev 3.01.25R firmware. If they support doing this, have SMA send you Rev 3.01.25R firmware for you to reinstall. Sometimes firmware gets messed up.

Or ask them if you can upgrade from 3.01.25R to 3.02.13R reliably.

I have found the first two levels of SMA tech support not as helpful as getting to top level tech support. The first level is screening, the second level for everyday help, the highest level for hard problems to solve.

I forgot to add: maybe delete the PV system from Sunny Portal, then re add the PV system back onto Sunny Portal. This won't cost any money and you won't have to wait for SMA service. Maybe a problem happened on the sunny portal side during initialization.
