best way to invest / getting involved in alt. energy?

hi,

I was wondering what would be the best way to invest in alt. energy, i.e. I'd like to support new inventors / companies in that field and perhaps be "hands on" myself. or buy one or two windmills in the desert.

Well, if you have some capital to deploy and are looking for a decent return, financing projects can be lucrative. PM if you'd like to talk more.

I think you already missed the boat. If you look at any of the manufactures stock performance over the last 5 years you will see what I mean. Stock prices are down some 90% since their peak in 2007/2008. As Governments continue to pull back incentives that trend will continue.
