        The "three weeks on a battery" statement in the article confirms that this is a solar charger for the original reflective "electronic ink" Kindle without a backlight.
        A Kindle Fire or other eBook reader with a backlit display will not last nearly as long and will require a panel larger than the device itself. (Cross reference the solar powered notebook computer.)
