LOL. Yes, Obama made China an economic superpower in between screwing up the Bay of Pigs and his disastrous response to Hurricane Katrina. I didn't realize this was a comedy thread. Thanks for the laugh.

I suspect the low-income carbon rebate is calibrated for average climate, and since you live in a colder than
average climate, it seems a bit light to you. Maybe they should have upped it in colder areas, I dunno.

What about sales tax - how much do you pay a year? I wonder if a sales tax cut would have been more
    useful for you.

Actually a couple hundred miles to the south near Dawson Creek , still east of the Rocky Mountains,
A lot of times during winter we are colder then Fort Nelson. The temp reading from Dawson are not of much
use as the reading are at the airport and have been as much as 10C different between there and where I live

I use 3 different thermometers to track temp 2 electronic and one bulb.

Yes I have found leaks and plug them but you have to leave enough venting so the wood heater can breath
or your house would fill with smoke.

Everything north of Prince George and a few a little farther south can get the -40 in the winter when we have
arctic outflow and those places are west of the Rockies.

I would say the climate is a lot closer to our average then what you find where the most population is in
Vancouver and Victoria. so you can figure out who gains here as they are a lot warmer on the coast.

if ever talk to the pols we have in B.C. you find out very quickly that we are expendable here but they sure
like the revenue generated up here.

Sales tax is 7% so not a lot of difference

Another point of interest when I was a kid 45 years ago we even had temp over 100F in the summer

I think the whole rest of the world knows the USA is still a superpower. I dont like the use of the word war, very dramatic though. I do think there is a very strenuous economic struggle underway.

The simple point I was trying to make was that the development and eventual widespread deployment of renewable energy is a gold-mine that some other country will enrich from unless we do it first. Net-metering, ITC's, rebates, and other incentives is how we open that door and plant our flag in the soil. So lets not stomp our feet up and down and whine like little babies that net-metering is unfair to utilities. Utilities have PLENTY of unfair advantages through subsidy and regulatory programs. the incentives for renewables are a drop in the bucket compared to what the utility cartel gets, and we should be encouraging more of it, rather than pouting about it.
You would think that the leading economical countries would be supporting those less rich and help them reduce their use of fossil fuel.

So why would Japan start to finance new coal burning generating stations in India? Because it is a business and there is money to make.

The US can easily go bankrupt pushing for world wide reductions of fossil fuel use while other countries will continue to push for their construction because it is a very financial lucrative process.

Even though you feel we are a economic superpower we still can't shame or threaten other countries into doing anything they don't want to.

We get to -40C in the winter the coldest I have experience here is -46C , insulation is not bad but not as good as what a person
would like but it was all that was affordable the time average in winter is around -20 to -25C

winter starts as early as middle of Oct to the middle to end of Apr.and have had snow on the ground till end of Jun

Just of interest I have seen snow in every month of the year and rain in every month here

A little of both. If Dan had taken math and science, he would not be here.

I don't keep track of My gas use and It varies so much from year to year due to my illness.

The whole problem is it is still a tax that hit people like me more then the ones that put it
in and they don't give a damn , they talk a lot but when push come to shove I get screwed.
This is the unintended consequence they don't want to admit.

I am sure I use more then 900L a year as I have to drive long distance when I can work.

In Canada and last I heard in the U.S. there are 100 cent to the dollar or .01 not .001
Ha! No need to blame the educational system for that -- I'm just an idiot Thanks for the correction.

    I filled up 1084L [of propane] ... $50.10 in CO2 tax
OK, so the rebate check covered the direct carbon tax on your propane.

since the CO2 tax we now have transport charge last fill up was $10 to cover the shipping the fuel.
    Delivery charges, hmm. http://www.lpgasmagazine.com/lp-gas-...ailers-issues/
mentions that in 2006, "More and more companies are beginning to charge some type of delivery fee. While $2 or $3 per delivery may seem negligible, it adds up when you apply it to the number of deliveries you make per year." I haven't found any other data on delivery charges (pricing is hard to find online), but I could imagine propane delivery companies arbitrarily increasing delivery fees and blaming it on whatever.

How much gasoline do you use per year?

Yes, your suppliers pay the carbon tax, but their taxes are reduced to compensate, so it should even out, shouldn't it?
Well either its an indictment of the American educational system or you have taken common core.
In Canada and last I heard in the U.S. there are 100 cent to the dollar or .01 not .001 so 6.7 cents
is .067 not .0067 that make $60/.067 or 900L approx. Now as for my propane we will ignore my use gas
for the moment. My propane use varies from year to year but I will use last years.
I filled up 1084L (240imp) of course that is for the year before use , that cost me $50.10 in CO2 tax or 4.6 cents
per L since the CO2 tax we now have transport charge last fill up was $10 to cover the shipping the fuel.

As you can see thing are not always the way you think they are an as far as filling my gas tank
that $60 would only pay for the CO2 tax on 10 fill ups or so or in the area of 10 weeks of driving up here.
But unfortunately the CO2 tax was brought in by Pols who live closer to there work.

The maximum annual payment amount for the period July 2015 to June 2016 is $115.50 for yourself,

You need to get out of that bubble that is California

Good grief you still cant do math and you still ignore that I still pay more for everything
and there has been no drop in taxes that help me everything has gone up for me.

I didn't say I wanted free gas but until you learn to read I cant see arguing with you as you
know nothing about what is actually going on here and next you will tell me our medical is free here

    no I don't , most I have ever received I think was about $60
OK. If the carbon tax on gasoline is $0.0067 per litre, $60 will pay for the tax on $60 / $0.0067 = 9000 litres of gasoline. Right?

My commute is only 100 km/week, and my car uses about 8 litres per 100 km, so I use about 800 litres/year personally. But maybe you use a lot more?

that amount would not fill my tank at $1.29 L , I cant recall
any place in Canada let alone where you are getting gas for 6.7 cents a litre
6.7 cents / litre is the tax. Why should you expect free gas? The check is to help compensate you for the tax, not the gasoline upon which the tax is levied.

don't forget I pay carbon tax on propane for heat
OK. How many litres of propane do you use per year?
