hi there! I wonder if computer fans can pull hot air downwards? 3 meters (10ft).
Computer Fan to pump air Downwards?

But for a quick sanity check, feel the upward draft created by the unobstructed hot air and compare that to the pressure you get when you partially cover the computer fan with your hand.
It should work.SunnyBoy 3000 US, 18 BP Solar 175B panels. -

Computer fans last longer, the cooler they are. Removing them from the hot air stream will lengthen their life, as would using ball bearing fans, or hydro-wave-something fludic bearings.
Personally, I prefer to mount fans at the bottom, and blow cool air into the device to be cooled. When the hot air exit is at the top, natural convection assists the airflow, and can become the "primary" movement method, if designed right, leaving the fans to be secondary for extreme conditions, and prolonging their life.
There are pressure and airflow curves published by fan manufactures, but by the time it trickles down to the 3rd re-brander, you may not be able to get true answers.
