You may not be a spammer however someone dropping a link on their first post is suspicious.

smokemaker mabe you were jumped on a bit hard. But you have to see it from how the "oldtimers" on here see it. If you post a link on a first or second post telling about something amazing the first thing that jumps into our heads is"SPAMMER"" mabe your genuine and have something interesting to tell. Dont give up just get one of the products you think is useful and in some way connected to solar or electricity saving and THEN post results with the link. That way we will have more faith in your post.. OK??

Well now you have uncovered a dirty secret. LED efficiency is not what they claim. When they rate them they do so with a brief pulse, at room temps, and in the middle of the focused beam. They do not count the power being used you feel as heat.

Example they may rate a LED @ 100 L/watts for a 1 watt LED, but it burns 3 watts of power with ballast.. That makes it a real 33 L/watt or about the same as a plain old fashioned Edison incandescent bulb.

Hey there Sunking, I just signed up here to get some information about LED diode brands, I have been studying trying to make a good LED product, and I have seen test reports on lights with power usage and lumen output, I never saw these numbers that you claim. I don't know if I misunderstood you, but these calculations are done not on the chips but on the entire product light with diodes and driver, for example 7x1w diode inside a PC milky cover and driver consumes total of 8.1W and gives 555.7Lumens with 100-110Lm/w chip
