Should I ground my 40 watt garden light system ? HELP!

I have 250 watt solar panel
2 x12 volt battery
40 watt led light
1 x 15 amp mppt charge controller



I connected everything to charge controller into a box by connecting batteries as a series. Should I ground this system to the metal box ? and how ?

Could you please sketch out the battery wiring? It looks like you have something connected to the ground lug on the box already.
It is not necessary to ground any part of your system wiring and it is arguable that it is safer without a ground. If your panel has a metal frame and/or racking, that must be properly grounded for safety.
