In case of strong winds, I'll guarantee one thing... that Gazebo will collapse before those 4 panels blow off

But, You really need to look into raising the panels a little higher off the roof. You'd get better air circulation under them to aid in cooling and reduce the chances of burning the gazebo down.

BTW-What is the accepted (desired?) distance between roof surface and bottom of the panels?
Is it based on average or highest ambient temp.?

I installed mine on 6" stands and racking, that is about all that is practicle, the cost/benefit decreases sharply after 6"

And a suggested minimum would be 2". Less than that does not allow much air flow.
If the roof surface is very rough and uneven (like thatch) the air flow will be more severely restricted for any particular distance than with a smooth roof surface.

Thanks... I hear ya, but the owner is adamant about aesthetics, that's why the low-profile.
(In fact, so adamant, that I after that photo was taken I had to re-frame the panels to reposition them 3" lower)

There are no slats making contact with the panels, which are 1.5" to 2" away.
The rough terrain will definitely restrict airflow in comparison to a smooth roofing surface.

Are you putting a lot of effort into appropriate CCT and CRI for the LEDs too?
I have talked to people who say it really affects the mood, and that seems to be very important here.

The 5050 LEDs are from a batch I've had for a couple years.
I like their reliability and the luxury of being able to cut them into "3"s...

The owner of the Gazebo doesn't want the lights to be "interrogating"...
Hence the dark blue lenses they will have.

The amber lenses are for a balcony/deck.

I have always associated blue, even dark blue, with cold, formal, mechanical and generally not calm. (Outdoor swimming pools and lagoons excepted, since there will be plenty of sunlight in the same space.)
There is also the risk that somebody will think they are marking the location of a crosswalk or fire hydrant.

Nice job. You may want to add some protection to the battery terminals so they don't get moisture on them considering the high humidity you have out there.

You got the humidity factor right... I use a aerosol corrosion blocker.
