Time for a reality check here. First, solar panels for the chinese domestic market don't necessarily meet UL standards and if there is a problem with them, you are on your own. There is lots of talk of the quality of Chinese panels vs North American or European in terms of longevity and build quality. Second the inverter may not allow for any expansion of your system, and it is probably not UL approved and as such won't be approved by any inspector (assuming you get it inspected). Be careful......you often get what you pay for.

        Moreover i've a related question:
The quote looks interesting imo... A few things you want to keep in mind is that the modules are 125w which is nice but depending on what you want to achieve in the future it may or may not work out. Modules in the 125w are great but because they tend to be less efficient and take up a heck of alot of space you really need to think about what you plan for the future or you may end up buying a completely different system ballooning your budget.

I completely agree with mike on this subject..

Go with a credible manufacturer with an established book of business. The price for solar panels are a lot lower now so there are many well established players with competitively priced modules. Having done business Internationally, take every precaution when buying directly from businesses located overseas. Very little protection if any at all. The last thing you want to do is buy something and then realize the products will never get on the boat until you pay more money.... Not for the faint of heart so becareful

          Thanks a lot for answer.

          - I've made sure that i receive 250W X 4 rather than 125X8 which would definitely take twice the space
          - I've some personal contacts in China, so they'll make sure that we're dealing with the right people :P
          - But if you still have some recommendations on any accredited companies providing in similar budget, please do share.

I'm still wondering about how many simultaneous appliances i can use in 1000W system, is it limited to 1000W appliance only? And if i've to use higher appliances can i use a 2000W inverter with the same system? I guess than the maximum energy production will be 1000Wh and the possible maximum utilisation could be 2000W.

Aside from having no warranty, have you thought of the shipping costs? I am assuming the costs shown are FOB China. Unless you want to buy a full container, it may be cheaper in the US.

You must run your appliances from the inverter which takes its power from the batteries. How much power you can use is dependent on the battery size, panel output and your load patterns. You must, FIRST, determine what loads you want to run, number of hours a day and week and then determine how much battery storage you can live with (enough for one day, two days, more?)

Only then can you look at how many panels you need.

There are ways to get it here state side without ordering a container but I don't see it running less than $500. Personally it is hard enough shipping stateside from one state to another without any damage so just image ocean and then to your final destination... Any damage you are out of luck. Take every safety precaution... It doesn't matter if the item is inspected beforehand because it is still dependent on what is finally loaded into the container. For example, item inspected at the manufacturer's facility > actual product loaded is not working or different item > no buyer compensation.. I'm not trying to scare you but international business is simply not for the faint of heart because this kind of situation will happen.
