    Cleaning solar panels

I want to study about solar panels to know how they work; I have seen smaller one at office building and hotel terrace but not the big plant like new jersey solar panel plant. Can anyone tell me how they manage to keep mirrors safe from any misshapen or how they clean them?

They use de-ionized water, and if needed, a very soft brush, but mostly, DI water, with a high pressure spray, and done at dawn or dusk, to not thermal shock hot parts.

what is the temp difference needed to cause thermal shock? If the temp of the glass is "X", the temp of the water should not be any colder than "Y", what is "Y"?

Make sure you differentiate between cleaning both the mirrors and the active PV parts of concentrating solar PV arrays, and cleaning the surfaces of simple flat solar panels.

But the methods are not all that different, except that the temperatures are much higher in the active areas of the concentrators.

Water fed pole pure water cleaning

I am in the solar panel cleaning business and have found that our purified hot water system works wonders in cleaning solar panels safely for both the cleaner and the panels. is the web site for more info. Studies have found that regular cleaning will result in better production of electricity especially for panels with out a steep angle. Please take time to read the study done by Google on their own solar array.

It means reading every even boring post.
On a brighter note it takes only a minute to ban and delete all of a spammers posts.

Sorry if I broke any rules

Sorry if I broke any rules about putting my website in the thread.... I was just stating that regular cleaning of solar panels helps in keeping them in peak efficiency.

i find it interesting that you would rather get advice from someone with no experience than a professional who cleans panels for a living

A professional panel cleaner? How can there be such a thing? Kind of like a professional street sweeper.

You need to google "google solar panel cleaning" and read about their cleaning results

Clean panels are more productive - not too hard for most to understand. Trying to say some small cleaning firm has something special is a bit overboard.
