Black or blue panels-does it make a difference?

    Black or blue panels-does it make a difference?

    I assume it's not just for looks. Why are some panels black and some blue? Also, what are the advantages and disadvanteges of Poly or Mono? Why choose one over the other?
    The SolarWorld panels offered by an installer are black and mono. The CanadianSolars offered by another are blue and poly(he claims black panels over-heat or something like that and therefore are inferior to blue panels).
    I'm leaning toward the SolarWorld mostly because I'm getting a more trustworthy vibe from him. SolarWorld panels are as good, or atleast not any worse than most manufacturers I'm assuming?

      Mono panels are blue, and Poly is black

          Poly panels tend to be heavier, have much broader surface area's, However I've delt with alot of poly panels that have much better fire ratings for the NFPA VS. the mono panels.

          If you are shipping in bulk. Mono crystalline is less expensive to ship. Can weigh 25%~60% less than poly. There is advantages to installations when it comes to Mono.

                  Black and Blue is basically an aesthetic thing with solar design and building.... There may be slight advantages for performance in the two but the selection process is all for looks.... yah can design a super nice black module for homes and likewise you can design a super nice blue module for homes.. However, if you design poorly then it's irrelevant the color you choose
