    Solaredge Zigbee not communicating AGAIN

My solaredge gateway has not worked consistently since new. I read back and found several old posts of mine from 2016.

It finally stopped communicating all together in 2021.

I have re- "Paired" the gateway several times. Each time I get 3 bars of signal on the gateway. But it seems that the inverter is not sending any data to the gateway.

I have tried completely resetting the inverter many times, re-pairing, moving the gateway closer to the inverter, etc...

    Even installed an ethernet extender.

It was suggested a few years ago to do a hare-wire ethernet connector as a bypass. It is around 120 feet to my router, and I would have to drill through concrete and run the ethernet cable to a different floor of my house. Not totally un-doable, but at the same time this option was fairly expensive when new, and I am the type of person that likes things to work as they were intended to do so.

I am thinking either the comm card in the inverter itself is bad, or my gateway itself is bad.

Either way, I am coming up empty-handed even finding a replacement for either part.

And I have sent solaredge many messages, sat on hold for hours, and done their stupid chat. All to no avail.

Has anyone had any success getting this Zigbee system to work again? I have looked into performing a firmware update VIA SD card, but it seems like it is somewhat un-user-friendly.

    HELP!!!

Does your gateway have a port for an external antennae? Zigbee is on the same spectrum as WIFI. Two possible solutions are:

    1) find or make a wifi antenna to the roof/attic space or external
    2) Ensure that the wifi within the house avoid a specific group of channels for the zigbee to use.
    3) both of the above

Download a wifi analysis app that scans and displays the 2.4 ghz spectrum to know the interference levels.

What about a Wifi extender that you can get close to your inverter, then the final few feet are hardwired into it. Something like this

      TP-Link TP- Link RE505X AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender White RE505X - Best Buy
