I am very new on this forum and found it really helpful especially the way experts, i.e. senior members are responding here.
below is my wishlist:
overview: I live in Karachi where loadshedding, i.e. power outages, are very common; 6 hours in a day, usually 2 hours 3 times, mainly due to high furnace oil prices. To solve this, a lot of poeple have installed battery supported backup systems with 1x kW UPS.
At our home, we have a 2kW UPS attached to 2 120Ah 12V simple batteries which charge from the main supply when the electric is up. it runs 5-6ceiling fans + 5-6 (500-600w) energy savers for 2 hours easily. exclusive wiring is already available for this setup. total load of the house is obviously much more than that with multiple split ACs, refrigertaors, and other stuff. here, main supply provides with 220V.
target:
I want to shift towards solar power gradually, with no background at all, and want to kick this off by charging one of the batteries from solar.
please advise on how to design the system preferably in a way that i can take advantage of the existing set-up, i.e. inverter, batteries, and exclusive wiring..
btw, i am not in hurry, and want to build a long term sustainable solution with robust architecture
looking for positive solutions
Thanks
