    My concern with a meter main is the 120% bus bar capacity rule probably applies to it. I would go with a meter main if allowed.
    Remember you also have NEC Box Fill & Bend Radius requirements to deal with

      Box fill is why I don't think there would be enough room in that Milbank meter base with main breaker. I would probably need a junction box of some sort.

      I currently have a junction box for my solar tap installed by an electrician. I don't think it would have passed inspection due to box fill had the inspector opened the box. The electrician told me that if I ever had to up size the solar feed conductors that I would need to do something different.

        One last thought Most utilities in states we work in required disconnects with a "visible break" .
        A breaker does not have a visible break. It cost us over $30K on a megawatt site to rebuild the switchgear to meet this requirement when the vendor shipped the wrong Bolt Switch
