    Thanks for the reference. I will not loose any sleep worrying about it considering the wording in what I posted and what you posted from the FAQ due to NEM 1.0 wording.

      That's about what I reported SDG & E told me, that is, if I'm NEM 1.0 and on tiered rates, I can stay on tiered rates. If I go to T.O.U. I can subsequently go to another T.O.U. rate, but not back to tiered rates.

      About a year ago, SDG & E sent a blurb around notifying users of the great savings available from the new T.O.U. plans and to pick one now. My semi educated guess is most folks ignored it with all the rest of the bill stuffers. The fine print of all that and the upshot was that if users did not make a positive election (that is, notify the POCO proactively of a decision on a rate - including tiered rates for NEM 1.0 users) to stay on tiered rates, they would automatically be switched to T.O.U. PV owners got switched to DR-SES - the T.O.U. rate for PV owners and never knew it. Some, believe it or not, still don't. A lot of my neighbors still swear they never had a choice. They did once - just not anymore.
