NEC 2017 and ground mount rapid shut down regulations

Hi,

I am installing an 18 kW ground mount system with a 400 foot DC run to the AC inverters at the house. I am wondering whether any rapid shut down requirements from NEC 2017 would apply to this set-up?

I was going to post on your other thread but since you opened a new topic I will post here.
My understanding is it only applies to roof mount since it is a safety requirement for firemen. I would not rely on just the word of some anonymous poster on a forum. I would confirm with your local building officials. Some have not yet adopted NEC 2017 therefore it doesn't even apply to roof mounts in that case.
