      DOW Powerhouse

I am also very interested in solar shingles because I need to re-shingle a 1400 sq ft home in Los Angeles and figure I'd kill two birds with one stone. Dow Chem is suppose to come out with a line of shingles sometime this year streamlined for the roofing industry and only need an electrician to hook the main harness into the electrical panel. I have a feeling however that it will be hard to find a company to install and likely they will put an unjustified premium on the cost.

before you buy any solar shingles, know that there are no successful multi-year installs, they just don't seem to last well. Get 3 references, or insist they install for free and use your house as a demo/test.
