You need a MCS registered sparky to issue you with the right papers for the utility. Are you doing a re connection?

      Hi

Thanks for the reply, all i need is the MCS certificate to enable me (and my neighbour) to sell to an energy supplier, as the original installer went out of business we cannot get the certificate of them.
MCS have said we can get one if we apply to them within a few days, i downloaded the paperwork and have everything they want apart from the Solar Key Mark, but for some reason it seems to be a national secret and nobody anywhere will tell me what it is or where on the panels i can find it.
From what i gather i hink it is the manufacturers name as there is a huge list available of manufacturers, however i cannot just put any down as if it is incorrect and they check they will cancel the certificate.
The system is running and i use the benefits however at the moment nobod is buying the output and as it falls to the tarriff on the day of install i am losing a bit of money and would like to gain from it.

When you're a MCS registered sparky you got a registration with them , once the system is comisioned then you ring the MCS , you give your registration no and system relevant info then they generate a key that is valid for a certain time with the cert to be filed with the utility. If anything has changed maybe some UK MCS sparky can help. Is clear to me that you want the system signed off by a MCS electrician, find one pay the man and move on. You got a free system thanks to someone else misfortune so you can't be loosing money for sure.

Solar Keymark is a voluntary third party certification mark for Solar thermal
I don't know if that is what you are referring to but says thermal only not pv.

MCS can also apply to PV.

Right but "Solar Keymark" is a separate certification for thermal products that is accepted by MCS. So a line on an MCS form for solar keymark should only be required if the product is thermal and not already certified by MCS. Unless they did something stupid and named something completely unrelated "solar keymark".
