Direct sunlight all day.Cemented tile roof. The lg 300 panel with built in microinverters have a warranty of 25 years vs the optimyzers 10 year.If i choose lg 310 neon2 they put in soled edgeoptimyzers an added 650 is added to extend the warranty for 25 years..Comment

SolarEdge optimizers have a 25 year warranty. The inverter has a 12 year base line warranty.
you can extend the inverter warranty to 20 or 25 years though.

I don't see an advantage to either over a single inverter if there is no shading, unless you really want per-panel monitoring. I have per-panel monitoring with microinverters (due to shading), but it's only useful to me to make sure all of the inverters are running. With microinverters or optimizers you have a lot more devices (potential failure points) up on the roof. At least with microinverters you could probably install a different brand if you lost one and couldn't find a replacement, I don't think that's the case with optimizers. The length of the warranty isn't that important to me because I've seen too many seemingly solid companies go under.Comment

The best solar system is a hybrid system using the Sony Fortelion battery system, a Radian GS8048 inverter, a 10kW array using LG NeoN panels, and Midnite Classic 250's. Plus a Honda EU7000iS for backup. That's definitely what I would get.Last edited by jflorey2; 06-01-2016, 02:46 PM.Comment

I live in Western Massachusetts, and am buying a Solar Panel System installed on my roof . My electric usage was 5960 kwh last year.
Here are my 6 best options:
1)7.560 kw System, annual production first year 6074 kwh, 24 LG315 Black solar panels, Enphase S280 Microinverters, $3.96/watt.(All Energy)
2) 6.840 kw System, annual production first year 6500 kwh, 24 Suniva Opt 285 Black solar panels, Enphase Microinverters, $4.20/watt (SolarFlair)
3) 6.270 kw System, annual production first year 7838 kwh, 22 LG285 Black solar panels, Solar Edge inverter, $4.00/watt (Rayah)
4) 6.030 kw System, annual production first year 7588 kwh, 18 Sunpower 335 Black solar panels, with built in microinverters, $4.86/watt(Rayah)
5) 6.270 kw System, annual production first year 7076 kwh, 22 SolarWorld 285 Black solar panels, SolarEdge Inverter SE-5000, $3.40watt, BUT E Mount Air Brackets (railless) mounted on plywood . (AHH)
6) 7.1550 kw System, annual production first year 6550 kwh, 27 Q Cell 265 Poly Blk panels.,Enphase M215-60-2LL-522, $4.20/watt.(Direct Energy)
Any thoughts or ideas about these choices, and why?
Thank you
