Need advice on solar panel installation in Phoenix, AZ. Thanks

I'm thinking of installing solar panels on my roof in Phoenix, Arizona. I've found a local company that has been doing solar panel installation for 7+ years. Here is what they quoted me:
6.2KW Solar System Panel Module: LG 310, I will get 20 Panels total
    Inverter: SMA SB6000TL-US-22

Total Quote Price: $17,050 Comes to $2.75/Watt
Reviews look good for the panels and inverter. I just would like some feedback on what you guys think. Thanks

Looks fine, just make sure you know what your power company rates and fees are and that you are getting the right system size to maximize your savings. You may want to look at the newer sb6.0 inverter. Also make sure you are getting double flashed roof mounts.

My power company is APS. The current fee is 0.7cent/KW for net metering. Im glad its not SRP. I will contact the solar company and see if they can work with me. Thanks for the input. I'm still waiting for a few more quotes for other company, and see what they offer.

Agree with sunnyguy to know your SRP or APS contract details before you buy so there are no surprises. I'm in Gilbert and used a locally owned, family run company that's been in the electrical biz for 40 years and doing solar since 2008. I purchased outright and they had the best deal of all the quotes I got. It was all turn-key with them doing all the HOA, city and utility requirements. Couldn't be happier with the system and their service. Mine has been online just over 1.5 years and I've recently gone 16 month in a row with zero billable energy. Don't know all your details but the quote seems in line with mine assuming your numbers are before any rebates, incentives, etc.

Hello Dave, thanks for the advice. This is all before incentives and rebates. Still shopping around to see what is available. Can I ask who your solar installer was? I want to see if I can get a quote from them. Thanks

If anyone in the Phoenix area has any recommendation or would like to share who they choose to install their solar system. Please post here or PM me. I went to solarreviews.com and contact the top 3 rate solar installer already. Just waiting on them for a quote and what system they use. Thanks for the input, have a great day!

Hopefully the $.7 doesn't increase too much in the near future. Just make sure you have all the data to pick the proper rate plan (time of use or not) and remember credits only carry forward.

Are we allowed to discuss companies if they're listed on Solarreviews? If so, please post which company this was! I'm in Scottsdale and have been on the fence for a bit.. If this is really pre-incentive cost, I might just get off the fence!

I'm not sure either. I'm new here as well. I don't mind sharing. I got several other quotes from other locations. If you are interested PM. If you want to contact me by email, message me with my username w/ @yahoo.com. If we can get a group of people in the Phoenix area that wants to get solar, we can possible get a group deal together.

Howdy, yep you can mention any installer, just no links to their websites or dropping contact info for them, if they have a SolarReviews page you can link to that if you want to, cheers.

Here are three other quotes I got today:

        Company A: 6.00KW System, Panels-Axitec, Inverter-SolarEdge, Total Cost- $16,500. $2.75/Watt
        Company B: 5.50KW System, Panels-Hyndai Mono 280, Inverter-Enphase MicroM250, Total Cost-$14,905. $2.71/Watt
        Company C: 6.00KW System, Panels-Sunpower327AC, Inverter-SunpowerAC, Total Cost-$20,760, $3.46/Watt

I know there are alot of different equipment out there to choose from. I'm still undecided on central or micro inverters. Still doing the research and looking around, I still have 4 more quotes to compare. Also looked at the reviews of each company and choosing a reliable company. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Yes... it is ok to mention the installer if you link to their solarreviews.com page. There is no PM system at this time.

If you do plan on getting several homeowners together, and thos folks can agree on some common goals and equipment (a big if), it may be beneficial to get a written proposal together and send it out for bids. Not usually done, and probably not something this forum or it's owners might want to be a part of, but it can be a way to save a few bucks. Also a way to a real PITA.

Hahaha if that is the case, never mind.

I'd suspect the recent less favorable PUC and POCO treatment of solar may have something to do with the lower prices. You sell to the market.

Seems like whenever I see AZ quotes they are super cheap. In MA those quotes would probably be in the $4.00 to $5.60 range.
