$33,250 before 30% tax credit. Net System Cost: $23,275

    System size (DC): 9.28 kW

Panels: Canadian 265W - total panel quantity 35

    Inverters: Enphase 250W - total quantity 35

    Racking: SnapNrack

    100% electricity offset

    I would definitely shop around.

This week I'm getting installed 315Watt LG NeOn2 panels with SE inverter for quite a bit less in central NJ.

Do you mind sharing some info on your purchase? You own outright? What size system are they installing?

I'm purchasing a 11,025WDC system, it's 35 LG315 Panels with an SE inverter. It's going up this week, if your near Hamilton you can stop by to see the install.

        I'm paying a little over $3/Watt.

Thanks a lot, my parents have a system on their roof that SunRun installed about 4 years ago. They have 56 panels. I'm just trying to do my homework, they went with their gut and didn't do any research back then. The calculations on my system, did I do them right, he's got me paying around $3.58/watt?

            Green Power Energy

Let him know that you spoke to me, (he's installing my system this week in Hamilton, just to give him a reference) and you were looking for a similar deal. I searched high and low in the area, they were the best deal, along with having very high reviews.

If you have a lot of roof space, then go with cheaper panels...I was limited, hence why I went with 315Watt panels, it made more sense economically.

Admin Note, icebox you are skating on thin ice. I think everyone knows the rules around mentioning installers, I, we, the forum dont care about wether or not you get your referal fee, first and last warning next time banned.

I spoke with the sales man today, he said he would run the quote if I wanted for the string inverters, right now he has me priced out with micro inverters which come with a 25 years parts and labor warranty.

I mentioned your deal to him, he said ultimately the prices are set nationwide for the Costco program. Costco also gives you 10% of the equipment value which I forgot t mentione above, and he said he's pretty confident he's going to be able to get me a $500 visa gift card. So with the 10% Costco ($1,218) and visa gift card that's another $1,718 that I'll be getting back. Which brings my net cost after FTC and gift cards, down to $21,557.

My average utility rate with JCP&L is $0.133 and my average electric bill is $150/month

You're probably better off just limiting your usage. Your rate for electricity is low for this area, if I had your rate, I wouldn't go solar, JMHO.

Look into replacing light bulbs with LED's, smart thermostats, and inspecting the insualtion in your attic...

Your money will probably go much further doing those things, rather than going solar, plus you'll be saving $20,000.

Either way LG + solaredge is better than Canadian + enphase (IMO) so if you can get that system for less, you probably should. Unless you really want Costco to be involved for some reason.

There's no other way for me to limit usage. When I purchased this house back in 2012 I totally remodeled, new kitchen and appliances, new furnace (96%) and AC (16 seer) and hot water heater, (just installed the latest Nest Thermostat), LED lighting throughout, and last year I re-insulated the attic.

Nothing really tying me to Costco, but SunRun the company I like because of my parents experience. My parents bought through a local (larger) installer back in 2011/2012 and the program they purchased was from SunRun (leasing program, 56 panels, they get SREC's) well the installers totally screwed up the install and about 8 months to a year later they started having roof leaks, they (the installers) came back nearly 6 times over the course of just about 2 years and finally my father had enough and called SunRun in California and filed a complaint. They had a field rep out there documenting and taking a bunch of pictures and they my father how they could make him Happy, he told them to remove the panels off the roof (not using the same installer) and that he would get his roofer to come in (the one that need the roof 12 years ago) and he would address the situation. They acknowledged his wishes and push comes to shove the whole back of the roof got torn off and re-shingled and the interior damages were fixed as well. They shelled out +/-$50,000 in damages to the two contractors we had fix the damages. So that in my eyes makes them a stand up company, and the fact that they do their own installs now makes me feel even better about them.

I don't want to sound too repetitive, assuming your going to finance a large portion of the 22K, you will be saving roughly $10/Month....Hardly worth the hassle of purchasing a PV system in my opinion.

To stay on topic with what you wanted to know originally, I'm paying $33,400 for an 11,025Wdc system, LG315 panels with SE inverter, I don't think the costco deal is worth it.

I pay on average .19c/kWh, but with 2 EV's and electric appliances, my usage is abnormally high, my bills run closer to 300/month, and even with that much savings I was still skeptical about the whole deal.

Hey i just wanted to share my quote with you, i'm getting my system install in 8 days (the countdown is on). I'm getting 42 ReneSola 265 Watt Panels (I have plenty of roof space so no need for higher watt on my panels) 10.29 kw System, yearly production 11,382 kwh for $30, 000. My electric bill is $300/monthly average, i'm located in the Hackensack area of NJ. So far my installer can't mention name lol has been keeping me update every step of the way.
