My contracted company just told me that I'd need to sign a waiver because I have lightweight concrete tile roof. If anything breaks, I'll be responsible for the parts and labor on repairing it. This really bugs me and I refused to sign it.

That's B.S. Nothing but either lightwt. concrete or mission tile in my HOA. No one has has a damage waiver in any contract I've seen, and I've seen every one.Comment

harleydee- Solar/Roof is part of your insurance dwelling. If your policy does not have enough coverage to cover your solar, you get it added and up the coverage to take the solar into consideration. BUT the fact that a contractor comes to your property and work on something, I expect everything they touch, they're responsible for.
Imagine hiring a plumber to repipe and not patching the drywall they open.Comment

I recall one guy in this forums have Solar installer and Roofer work together. He got the same roof like yours.
Installer put the racks
Roofer come to inspect and fix whatever broken.
Installer put panels
Roofer come to inspect and fix whatever broken.
By the end of the day, nothing broken and he was happy.
You can ask your solar guy the same.5KW Enphase system.Comment

if signing the waiver was NOT part of the contract signing, don't bother signing it now, let them default instead, and be sure you get LOTS of good photos before install, of all the roof, ridges, valleys, and eaves (where they will smash the ladders into).Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||
