I think the veterans in the forum probably already know this but I was able to use the app "Clinometer" for Android to easily measure my roof pitch. Between that and the Compass app it's super easy to get those required numbers for the pvwatts calculator.

I cant comment on android as I use an iPhone. The compass is a bear to calibrate and is off more than it is accurate.
I use one of two free apps for pitch
One is toolbelt by unirac. Has a theadolite among other things that will give you pitch and azimuth
The other is handy level.
If you can get to where you can see a gable end just tilt phone to match

Thanks. I was looking something like a theodolite app when trying to better understand how the sunlight would work with my roof.
