Have to admit, I am very interested in seeing quotes and know the installers - not disclosing either really takes away from useful information that I can get here.
If anyone can point to good threads with the info, I would appreciate it!

Great looking install! Looks like 15 panel LG with SE, which is exactly what I want. I am in La Costa - San Diego as well!

PM's sent, thanks guys, I was skeptical at the beginning, but now I'm a happy camper. Once started, it was a quick, efficient and well-done job.

Howdy JBinCBad, would you mind sharing with everyone who your installer is? Just go to www.solarreviews.com and search for the installer go to their page and copy their page url into a post and all is good. We need to work out a way that is easier for people but for now that's the way to do it, cheers.

Congrats on the install! -- I signed with the same installer (JPS) about 10 days after you and am still unclear when the installation will commence.
Did you have to coordinate approvals with your HOA? I understand that can take a couple weeks. I received the engineering design and HOA application paperwork a little over a week ago. Also, we received the permit from the City of San Marcos. So hopefully install is no more than a couple weeks away.

My HOA took 2 long weeks to approve, while the city took only a week.

FWIW: in CA, by law, HOA's can take up to 45 days to review.

Hey Louie, if you read the earlier parts of this thread, that was my big complaint, it seemed like there were 4 or 5 weeks with no activity and no communication, was pretty frustrating. The reality is I think they book that far in advance to keep feeding the pipeline, and are able to buy panels in bulk due to accumulating more jobs before purchasing. If I had to do it again, I'd probably negotiate the timeline shorter than the standard 3 mos. they give themselves, but that may take away part of your bargaining power for price. . . Still very happy overall. . . .

                    JBinCBad,

I don't have enough postings to be able to PM, but thanks for the response.

Glad to hear that it all ended well -- If I didn't just start a new job (which has completely consumed me), I would probably be chomping at the bit.
On a positive note, I just received my HOA approval letter today. This is the last requirement after permit and engineering drawings completed for install to commence. I will ping my Proj Mgr to see when they will pencil me for installation. And it can't come soon enough -- I just got my SDGE bill today and it was darn near close to $500!

                      Cheers,

                      Louie

yep, contract signed Aug 5, tie-in was Sept 29. I freaked out for about 5 weeks because nothing was being done, and in two days it was permitted, installed, inspected and tied.

How's the system working out for you? Since I'm new to the forum I can't send PMs but am interested on who you used.

If you could PM me with the company as a referral that'll be greatly appreciated!

                            Thanks!

I see they will show some reviews. But I don't see how to enter your own review. Bruce Roe
