Hello,
thank you so much for the message.
I actually have company C coming out this Saturday for a quote and presentation along with 3 other company but I have 8 companies in line to give me a quote. I already prepared an excel spreadsheet so all I have to do is plug in their information and #'s. I will check out company D as well in 2 weeks and will let you know if I end up working with them & will definitely let them know you referred me.
i just hate the fact I can't send PM's because I'm under 10 post.
Thanks again!Leave a comment:

And this people is why it pays to do your own research, those who will take the quick and easy option of just getting quotes from those someone from this place recommends is not doing themselves a good service as far as I am concerned, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH PEOPLE,, you will be better offLeave a comment:

Last week I had some discussions with the salesman of company B about some freebies he promised me when I signed the contract. He pointed it out that those are not on the contracts (mine or of the one referred me who said he got it) as an excuse that he did not promise it. Sure, I thought it was some small things that they could do extra to make customer happy and because it was just some small things so I did not insist those to be on the contract, but it turns out they are not small to them and his boss is not happy about it. To me, promises are meant to be fulfilled even they are verbal promises, so I don't feel comfortable refer company B anymore because people I refer may get the same problem with broken promises. I would still give you insight about what to watch out or what I should have done. And I wish you new members good luck on your project.

that's not cool of them to do. I totally understand.
I received my first proposal and I'm not satisfied with it.
System Details
Year 1 Estimated Production: 10,409 KWH
8.50 kW (DC), 7.50 kW (AC) SunPower System
26 x SunPower E20/327 Solar Panel
Non-SunPower Roof Mount Mounting System
1 x SUNNY BOY 7700TL-US-22 - 240v (SPR-7702m)
System Cost $35,708
Estimated Rebate $0
Estimated Federal Tax Credit $10,713
Estimated Net System Cost $24,996
with those numbers, I calculated this proposal to be $4.20/watt which is crazy high.Leave a comment:

Can you also PM me the company names? I've managed two quotes and both are nowhere near the prices you've obtained.Leave a comment:

So I chose to go with company B. They appear to be very knowledgeable and I really felt like like they put their best offer out first, rather than haggle over price. They have a good warranty, no sub-contractors, production guarantees, will remove/re-install panels for free if any roofing work needs to be done, etc. I feel like they do business the way my company does, so that makes me feel good about their business practices.
27x330w panels, 8.91kW SunEdison
-not the "best" panels, but that 330 really helps with my situation and production needs. The available LG panels they had were not going to cut it, and SunPower was A LOT more expensive.
SE7600 inverter and optimizers
$2.9/watt.
We then included 200amp panel and feed upgrade costs (with est trenching costs) and a 50A outlet in my garage for car.
That brought me up to $3.2/watt.
I'm pretty happy with that. Should be installed by 12/31, but there are some things on my side that will likely delay the process.
Thanks for everyone's help! I'be been reading this forum for a while now and there is ton of valuable information here. I will report back as progress begins.Leave a comment:
