SolarEdge users: What's your inverter temp during high production?

Don't know. Using common sense I wouldn't think so as this expense is not directly related to getting your system up and running. I suppose you can still claim it, I don't think you'll go to prison if you get audited and IRS flags it as incorrect. Perhaps you can have your installer to include it "for free" in the total cost of the contract.

Best probably would be to get it through the installer and just added to the total cost of the system.

Right before setting it up, the inverter temp showed 163.1º and the outside temperature was right around 99.0º. Within a couple minutes the temp dropped by 7º and 30 minutes later, it dropped by almost 20º!







Obviously a temporary setup.

There's 2 cooling (computer) fans. Apparently they aren't very good.

Seems to be working well...yesterday at 12:30pm the temp was 161 and today at 138. Hard to tell any difference producing wise as there been some clouds the last couple days.

100F outside vs. 160F inside? It'll work just fine.

Checked the Kill-A-Watt and the fan used 0.25kWh in 7.5 hours of run time...which would equate to 0.33kWh for 10 hours (9am - 7pm)...if I ran it every day all year, that would be 120kWh for the year...and I probably won't even run it in the winter/spring (unless I see there is a benefit to it production wise, but probably won't be).

I'm not home much during the day so just got around to checking my temp for you... 103.4deg on my SE3300 running 3.7kW array, putting our close to max power. Situated on the east side of house and its just before noon here so has been in sun all morning with current ambient temp about 85degF.

HX_GUY I finally made it here This forum is nice, it seems a lot of solaredge owners here.

It was me who made the website with the typo's for the header The fans work great. My Inverter is inside my AZ hot garage, in a cabinet (that is open) the fan brought it down 15-20 degree's easily. Waiting to see what happens when its 118-120 out.

Highest temps I've seen are 127-133 while showing 7700-7900 (w) output. Inverter is mounted in the garage and temp was probably in the 90's in the garage at the time.

I was wondering (since I was curious as well) if the inverter temp could also be logged in pvoutput? I took a quick look and I didn't see a way to customize/extend the auto uploader for Solaredge ...

Any one else look into this?
