Anyone else experiencing delays with getting their system up and running?
It has been 3 weeks since install completed, over two weeks since city inspection and approval, paperwork was sent by my contractor before system went up. Seems like there are lots of people jumping on the solar bandwagon and SCE is up to their necks in paperwork and now I'm stuck paying for solar plus SCE while being at SCE's mercy, seems unfair.
I called SCE interconnect dept for update and this is email I received

NEM Interconnection Application Status
The NEM team is experiencing a higher-than-normal volume of NEM/Interconnection applications. The team continues to work extended hours to help alleviate the situation and appreciates your patience. If you received this email receipt confirmation, your NEM paperwork is in our queue to be processed in the order that it was received.
We are sending weekly contractor NEM Interconnection application status reports of applications received since 2012 to present with a Pending PTO status and applications that have received PTO recently. Please distribute this report internally within your organization to get the latest project information and reduce the volume of calls to the NEM Interconnection Help Line.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your company is not receiving the weekly status report, please send an email to customer.generation@sce.com. The email subject line should be "Request for Weekly Status Reports" and please include the company name and a generic email address where the report can be sent and accessed by everyone in your organization.
Document Requirements
Please visit our website at www.sce.com/nem and download the NEM Interconnection Checklist, listing all the required documents for NEM Interconnection, as well as all the required forms along with mark-ups and sample Single Line Diagram and Plot Plan. NEM Interconnection application documents should be submitted to the NEM Interconnection team via email to customer.generation@sce.com or via fax to (626) 571-4272.
REMINDER: SCE can accept email attachments up to 7 MB; if the total size of attached files exceeds 7 MB, please submit them in multiple emails adding the following to the subject lines: 'part 1 of 2,' 'part 2 of 2,' etc. Emails that are larger than 7 MG will NOT be delivered to SCE due to sizing limitations.
Controlling the PTO Date
SCE is required by Rule 21 to authorize interconnection and enroll the customer on the NEM rate as soon as possible upon receipt of a complete application. Please be advised that we are unable to Hold or Rescind a PTO letter until project financing is finalized.
To avoid this problem, do not schedule the final inspection by the local building and safety department until the project is ready to be interconnected. For your information, some local municipalities routinely submit their final job cards to the local SCE office, which then forwards the job card to us. As a result we may receive the final required document to authorize interconnection without you taking any action. If the final inspection has not yet taken place, there is no risk that the interconnection will be authorized before the financing is finalized.
