6kW home solar system wire sizing required

Hi Guys,

I am planning to set-up a 6kW system. Going to use 24*250Wp panels, 5.4 kW inverter, along with 4 in 1 out DC Junction box through 6 sqmm string cables.
3 Strings, 8 panels connected in series. Planning to connect it in single phase connection(load).

Is it enough to have 10A fuse at the input side of DC String combiner Box (SCB) and 40 A on the output side of DC SCB ?

I would like to know how to size wire further after DC SCB and how to size the AC Distribution box (eq: 2 pole MCCB) ?

Why not two strings of 12? Many inverters will accept that without a combiner or dc fusing. All wiring (ac and dc) is sized to be compliant with your local electrical code, usually some cycle of the NEC here in the USA. With long runs, voltage drop may require increasing the size.

Yeah i can do that also (2 strings (12 in series)). So, after that straight away i can connect those strings to the inverter through an isolator right ? If so, the cable lose will be higher right, for transmitting it for a distance (inverter place) of 30-40 meteres ?

2 strings of 12 panels are prefered. It will wake up earlier and rest later which offer you better output.

Wire sizing isn't a simple answer. I did a video on it based on NEC code. You can go to YouTube and search on "wiring your solar electric system".
