I've been less than enchanted with my Zigbee wireless system. It crashes at the slave with the inverter not recognizing that there is a slave zigbee installed after working for a day or so. Always happens after dark when in 'Night Mode'.
I'm thinking that something like this in Client mode would work great! I think I can stick it in the DC disconnect box that mounts under the inverter since it's a plastic box and there is AC power I can wire into for the little thing. A short ethernet jumper to the Communications card in the inverter, configure the inverter SERVER for LAN from Zigbee and hopefully it will make the trip to the cable modem box I have from Xfinity. The cable modem box even has a WPS button on it just in case. (I don't have a password on my cable modem box, I'm so far out in the country, no one is going to tap into the wifi so why bother.)
If you cannot physically wire into your router, I guess you would need to buy a wireless bridge that extends your wifi network to a hardwired port. Something like this, for around $20, should work.
