        Hi Point1,
I live here in Corona and I recently sign a contract with HelioPower after seeing 6 other vendors. They were the only ones who offer something different from the rest of the companies out there, they have an Energy Optimization plan which is both a Generation and Reduction solution. So I can definitely shed some light on the subject if you have any questions. Cheers!
Oh and also the have a SunPower Modules, but I ended up going with Panasonic HIT 240S due to my roof.

Would you be willing to scan in a copy of the bill with your personal info removed? I'd love to see how the math works on that. Sounds like there must be some kind of demand pricing involved, but who knows.

Looks like the usage rate fluctuates from about $0.15 to about $0.18/kWh and demand rate is $0.093/kWh.

So in total about $0.24 to $0.27/kWh which is higher then most other areas.

First off that $402.29 bill was for two months 9/18/13 to 11/18/13.

The $267.91 was calculated at $0.15/kWh for 1786 kWh of "Elec Use".

The $134.38 was calculated at $0.075/kWh for 1786 kWh for "Elec Demand".

If you total those you paid about $0.225/kWh for 1786 kWh or about $402.

Back in 5/13 they were charging you a single rate of $0.275/kWh where you used 800 kWh and got billed for $219.66.

It looks like now they are now charging you about $0.27/kWh only they split it into two areas. Usage and Demand.

I am not saying that isn't a high electric rate. I am saying that all POCO's have different ways to charge people which can be simple or confusing.

I was on two month billing, when I switched to esco it became monthly. at first my esco was 6.9 Cents per kwh , then they stopped, new rate was 8.9kwh fixed for 3 years.

I know that if I use $100 I get about a $350 bill. That is crazy. My new 35 Panel 327w Sun Power system will produce over 1000kwh per month.

I am no longer mining. so that is going to be solid $207 fixed for 20 years.

No fluctuation, when I switch to gas for my heat, that will be offset by the net metering on my bill.

I think you are misunderstanding how they are charging you for electricity. If you go back and add the two Electric costs (use & demand) and divide by the total kWh for each billing period you are being charged between $0.22 and $0.27/kWh. How they list those charges on the bill can be confusing but in the end you are not really paying anywhere close to $0.089/kWh

Now with your new solar pv system you should be able to reduce your electric bill but I am not sure how much. If you are paying $207/mth for the solar pv system you will probably still be charged for a connection fee every month even if you don't purchase electricity from Con-Ed.

Let us know how it works out for you.
