That looks great! Now put those plastic nuts on pretty tightly and you are done.
Seems like the ones I saw before had a pretty wide gap between parts. Bruce Roe

Good lord how is this guy even doing work on people's homes???

So I already had the intention to redo all the plugs that he put together since I found two that were loose...never thought that every single plug he did would be garbage though!

Check this out...this was a "crimped" connection. Freaking wire looks freshly cut and like it's never been crimped ever.

And this is the piece inside the connector that he crimped using pliers...

Oh yeah...how could I forget to also add that the installer did not freaking specify the PV meter socket model on the revised permit. Damn it.

The inspector said to either add it to the permit, or get a letter from the permit designer with the info. I got an email from them a couple weeks ago so hopefully that'll satisfy.

    Good news, bad news.

Bad news is that there won't be an inspection today.
Good news is that it's not the installers fault and all the items were fixed.

After everything was done, I called the inspector to see what time they would be here and she said they are backed up and won't be able to make it out today and it'll have to be on Monday. She said to call her Monday morning at 7am and we'll be a priority on the list. Also said neither the installer nor myself have to be here.

She seemed to have no idea who I was, so my assumption that it got changed to her doing the inspection because she got wind of it and wanted to personally do it doesn't seem to be correct. I kind of reminded her a bit about the job and she was like "Oooh yeah, that was quite a while ago wasn't it?"

    So I guess Monday now.

Some pics of what was fixed...

Ground lug inside the AC disconnect

Ground bushing inside the DC disconnect

    Rivets for the two labels

I don't think so, this is how I've seen all other installs in the area.

Ok so almost done with fixing ****. Inspector hasn't shown up yet.

The guy ran the wire up on the roof through conduit, came out looking good. I worked on securing a ton of wires under the panels that were dropping and touching the roof tiles. So everything on the roof is done.

Moved on to fixing the two items not he ground...which is two ground bushing...but the installer forgot, he thought he already fixed that, so he didn't have the parts with him. :arizona: He now ran out to Home Depot to buy them, which gave me a chance to update this post.

One other thing that I'm hoping isn't going to be a problem...he didn't bring the whole permit with him, only the revised parts that were submitted and approved by the city. Hopefully that's ok and the inspector doesn't say they need the whole permit on site.

The big question is will the installer show up..with out the permit the inspector will just leave. The rest would be mute.
