Best Way to Sell SRECs in NJ

I have accumulated 10 SRECs in NJ and I am looking to sell. What is the best way to do this? I have looked at a few brokers and they all seem the same. Is there a way to bypass the brokers and sell them on my own? If so, who does it, and how much work is it? Is it worth the time investment? How much more do you get if you sell them on your own without a broker?

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe no one knows or cares to share an opinion.

That may very well be or not be. However, I'm not sure what the individual or personal political or social opinion part of this response has to do with the original question. The OP has a question pertaining to what may be a legal source of some revenue regardless of origin, not unlike solar tax credits some think a political and social mistake but don't refuse if/when eligible.

I can't help the OP due to my ignorance, but someone who has sold/handles SRECs in NJ or elsewhere may know something and perhaps be inclined share an opinion or confirm that a broker is required.

SRECtrade no longer allows self managed accounts so you'd have to signup for their automatic account which they basically take over your gats account and you enter your readings into srec trade, they generate srecs and sell them on their own schedule. Since you already have 10 saved up and if you just want a quick sale, try njsrec.com. The prices there are no fee, hence a little lower, but they are pretty good too. The owner will cut you a check and you'll be on your way.

Personally i'm signed up for srec trade's automatic management. I had a self service account before but they forced us to convert, however they let us old users keep our lower 2% commission rate instead of the 5% they charge now I think. I've sold a few srecs at njsrec.com a few years ago. All the brokers have very similar pricing. The only other one I know of is flettexchange.com. Apparently you can sell directly in the gats system too but I couldn't figure it out. I think thats more for large solar farms and stuff who sell 100's of srec's not us little guys.

I signed up with these folks back in July <http://www.knollwoodenergy.com/> and so far have had no issues. I have 7 SREC's to date but they won't mint until end of the year.

I always sell them through a broker. There is a lot of documentation needed and they do it all. Usually have the check in 2 days. Don't know if we can mention names but if you PM me I will be glad to send there web site to you. They are biggest in NJ.

BTW Just sold 3 last month for $175.00 each. There fee is only $2.50 per SREC.
