This is MY opinion... please ... no one should get all butt-hurt over my comments.

That said, this is a big part of why I went with micro inverters, I dont want my house looking like a science project.

This is the only visible thing, added to my house for the solar install... a single piece of conduit and a red sticker

I know the advantages of string inverters, but went with Micro's anyways.

I'd do it again, in a heartbeat.

I took the boards advice, and contacted a small, local company with nothing but 5 star reviews on Yelp. No Russ..... I wont say the name.

This is their deal....
24 , 270 watt Solar World MONO panels ( 6480 watt total)
24 Enphase Inverters
Envoy monitoring with life time web access
Attic run electrical, nothing on roof
Move v ents as needed
R/R all Roof Tile under solar panels to repaper roof.
25 year warranty for all parts and labor. If product supplier goes out of business, they will pick up the remainder of supplier warranty
4 year maintenance agreement ( Wash panels, inspect wiring, etc..etc.. 2 x per year) after 4 years, service is $150 per year if so desired
NO PANEL UPGRADE NEEDED! They will flip around some circuits to make the panel "End Fed" which will satisfy the building inspector without replacing the panel.

All permits and HOA paperwork included

Price: $23,291 ( 3.59 per watt installed)

-30% Tax Credit $16,303 ( $2.51 per watt installed)

It looks like this is the way I'm going to go.....

I leave the A/C set at 72 degrees 24x7... and here is where I'm at, halfway through July.

Without solar, I'd be racking up $400+ SCE bills.

I would think they could give you an estimate off a sat photo, and speaking to you about your usage and goals.

Very Nice AlisoBob, are they pretty much just in the OC or do they operate in SD County as well ? I'm thinking it would be a long pull for them to come all the way down to do an estimate. (I mean not North County but SD proper.)

He gave me an ESTIMATE before he left. Once I commit a more thorough detailed contract would be drawn up. He provided me about 10 references for jobs within a few miles (<10) of my location. I drove by one and saw his crew working. They were the same crew that AlisoBob has pictures of.
