again, check with your normal usuage during Summer especially Winter time. SCE has switch all TOU-D-TEV to TOU-D starting Jan 1st, 2015.
the peak hours start from 2pm to 8pm. The super off peak extend from 10pm to 8 am. (If you charge your EVs and AC/heater during night time and no one home during day time, great for you!!)
I'm not sure how many of your get your peak solar output from 2pm to 8pm.... Unless you have West facing arrays....but still... East facing arrays are
There are TOU-D-A and TOU-D-B plan. The B plan has fixed $16 monthly fee at lower rates
Here is example on a SW 245 deg Summer output and TOU-D-A rates
PLEASE LOOK AT THE RATE CHART ****Baseline Allocation Credit @ -10 cents per kWh only!!!****Attached FilesLeave a comment:

I disagree sensji. If no one is home until 4pm, like bob said, and his A/C is off until then, he will generate enough credits to offset when the A/C is on later in the afternoon and evening.Leave a comment:

Based on how you've described your consumption, it is hard to see how TOU will benefit you. In the summer time, you are a net consumer, and since you've said A/C is where most of that energy goes, it is likely to land squarely in the "peak" pricing period. In general, TOU makes the most sense for people who are net generators during peak periods. I would guess that whatever gain you might pick up from TOU this time of year will be quickly eaten up and end up costing you once your A/C starts running.Leave a comment:

So, I spoke to "Ruth" at SCE
She stated that the TOU-D-T accounts are not going away, the only upcoming changes are a name change to all the EV type TOU accounts.
I am too close to the end of the billing cycle to convert on this cycle period ( but she said she will try to anyways). Feb. will probably be the first cycle.
For solar account holders, their is no "analysis" to be performed. They know most every solar home over generates during the day.
She could not give me numbers over the phone, but confirmed that the TOU-D-T type account will benefit my situation, how much remains to be seen....
Thanks everyone...

I was put on TOU when I hung-up the phone. I don't see where this is going if what I read is true and TOU-D-T is near-dead.Leave a comment:

I called on the weekend... perhaps thats when the "B" team answers the phone?
I'll call them again today, to see if I can get better service.Leave a comment:

Does anyone think SCE is stealing our money when they refuse to switch us over immediately to TOU.
Ive twice been given this BS about having to "review" my account to see which one is better for "me". I would not be switching to TOU if I hadnt done those calculations already. And when I bought a house of course my TOU didnt follow me so they had to "analyze" my use again. So both times I got stuck with $400+ bills for month or two and once i went to TOU it went down to $200-250... Which I already knew it would. I bope someone catches on to this practice and sues them.Leave a comment:

I am actually interest in TOU-D-EV with peak hours from 10am to 6pm. I think the new rate will change the peak hours from 2pm to 8pm, if that really happen I rather stay in standard tier rate. You can only change the program once per year....
If you already have surplus with your solar system, why bother to switch to TOU? Your net surplus with clear up in ture up (12 months) period and start over.Leave a comment:

TOU-D-T will be discontinued in April or May and rates as well as times of use will change. However, you will still save money.
Did the sce rep mama an analysis of the bill for January and tell you how much you would have saved?Leave a comment:

I contacted SCE about converting my account to TOU-D-T
They have to conduct a analysis of my account, and usage.
It could take up to 30 days to hear back.
I'll keep you posted.Leave a comment:
