I download the usage for 365 days and run them in spreadsheet and decided to go with TOU-D-A. My highest usage fall in Summer/Winter, so I really need to build up a big credit to offset those usages. Every families were different, just pick the best for youself.
You will not get rich when SCE pays you $0.04 per kWh for over generation (your cost is higher). My consumption is higher than solar generation I don't have any $$$ coming to me at true-up. I'm just hoping I can balance the account with my solar system. My billing cycle ends today and looks like I'm getting a -$129 credit for -26kWh over generation.
Base on the graph, you can already tell I will be using more kWh than my solar generation. 1st EV starts on 07/2014 and 2nd EV launch on 03/2015. I actually need a little larger system than 7.1kW.... perhaps an 8.5kWLeave a comment:

I looked at this for a few minutes...

You forgot to back out the one time CA Climate credit, for $29. Your bottom line was still $158... pretty impressive.
Here is where out two scenarios really differ... Off peak, and especially weekends.

My house comes alive after 4pm or so..... still being in "Peak" until 8pm would kill me.
also, weekends is where you make allot of $$.. I have the TV, A/C, and most everything the kids touch on 24 x 7 , all weekend. My weekend generation numbers suck, but I got solar to be confortable, not rich. I'm going to look closer at this later, its pretty compelling stuff....Leave a comment:

I think you guys get the idea that TOU plans... for the right situation.... are the way to go.
I'm seeing good credit numbers, and this is after supplying 99% of my power demands.
I'll let you guys see how big my credits are, come summer, when I start to consume them.
I'm diggin' it!!!

Perhaps you can send me the installation information via PM.
Just went through this thread and learned much regarding your system and experiences. I have just meet with my 3rd company and would like to hear from your installer as well.
