Hello, i am about to sign up for a 7 kW system and have been offered a choice between jinko or trina panels, the latter being about $500 more for the whole system. Which should I choose?

Unfortunately, I don't think too many know that brand around here.

For what it's worth in CA (US's largest solar market). Trina is more popular than Jinko. Although for Chinese panels, Yingli and Canadian Solar are more popular.

Or the Ca Solar Initiative list to see the PTC rating which is closer to what you'll see in the real world:

Compare what's on the nameplate (STC) vs what you'll really get (PTC) which can be used to measure possible performance quality.

Also since you're in OZ would think you check out the whirlpool forums see lots of panel discussions there. As I know ET Chinese panels are popular too down under where it's not so much here.

FYI: Trina is among the top three in China along with Yingli and Canadian Solar.

All raising guidance in sales for second qtr of 2013.

All pointing that Trina is a stronger brand/company over Jinko.
