The charger has been delayed until Late Q4.

It can operate without a grid connection, basically directly off solar panels.

MSRP will be $2,499. Channel partners will provide product anywhere from less than $2k in volume to ~$2.3K for single unit purchases. We are looking at versions, w/o the integrated level 2 AC EV charger and costs will be less. However, if we productize that version, it won’t be available until well into 2023.

If some college EE students would look at this need for a simple controller/charger like described here ..I am sure they could come up with something.

There is a commercial solution available that uses a CHAdeMO connector to provide high voltage DC directly from panels to an EV. It is in the tens of thousands of dollars.
