Is it safe to operate XW6848+ inverter with 67 volts DC input?

    Hi guys,

Is it safe for the XW6848+ operate with 67 volts DC input? I Have a battery bank need to set the absorb voltage to 67 volts in order to get it properly charged. the XW6848+ manual said the maximum input voltage is 65 volt DC. I wonder if it is ok to push it to 66.6 volts and won't damage the inverter?

    Thank you in advance.

I've been running mine to the 66V limit with charging in the winter. This is just before the warning, and before the shutdown. About 11 years so far. Hitting the shutdown will likely log it in NVRAM and void your warranty.

      Good morning Mike.
How much volts did you set the inverter shut off when it reach 66 volt? I have mine set at 67 volts and the controllers at 64.9 volts. I want to increase the shut off to 68.6 volts and the controllers to 66.6; but i am afraid it would cause permanent damage to the inverter. what do you think? thank you.

First, remember that the volt meter in the XW may not be calibrated to the same standard that the volt meter in your charger is - they will be different unless you tune them somehow.

My max EX voltage is 67.9V I've only tripped the warning once, on a cold day when temp comp boosted it up. My normal charge voltage is 67.6V and has never done anything bad
My model of the XW only allows it's charging voltage to go to 64V from the generator L2 charging circuit, to get to my normal charge, I have to rely on PV

What is the setting in your inverter? mine come with 65volts max. I set it to 67 and set the charge controllers to 64.9 volts so it won't tripped for over voltage. only warning when it over to 65 for seconds. do you mean your battery bank never reach to 67.9volts or it reach and never has problem with the inverter inverting at that voltage?

There is a battery disconnect setting in the inverter, I think it's at 70V I've never messed with it.
the AC charger in the inverter only goes to 64V
The inverter has a Warning for DC overvoltage at 68V and goes offline at 70V. I only reached the warning once and it's not adjustable as I recall

Mine XW6848+ comes with 65volts max. in the inverter settings. I have changed to 67 volts and didnot want to go higher unless I am sure it is ok. anyway thank you, I better go back to 48 volts bank and stick with the 65 volts max.
