DAMAGED Panels and Inverters FOR SALE

For anyone who is handy electrically, I offer 8 of my 5 month old panels and inverters for sale. Issue with them is that a squirrel got underneath the arrays on the roof, built a nest and chewed on the wiring. If you can splice, solder, crimp, these will be a fantastic value for you.

    Here are the details:
Panels - new in October 2011, Mfg SolarWorld Sunmodule+ SW240 Mono black Ver II. Panels are very aesthetic with black frames and overall black look. They are 240 watt and performed flawlessly for 5 months. The wiring is standard single conductor with MC4 M & F connectors. The wiring will need to be replaced from the junction box.

MicroInverters - Enphase M215 215 watt, 240/208 VAC, 60hz, 16-45VDC, for 60 cell modules, Engage cable connectors, MC4 connectors on DC side. Wiring has been chewed on the AC side only and will need splicing and reinsulating.

I will sell these at a nice price and am prepared to ship them immediately. Pricing: panels $100 each, Inverters $50 each plus shipping. So for under $1500 you can have the major components to a nice 1.92 kW system. Contact me via email for more details and full detailed pictures.

Help me out and tell me what info you need. I can give you all the specs or you can go to the manufacturers' websites. I can provide pics of the equipment including the damage to the pig tails. I can not yet post private emails. Perhaps the moderators can forward them for us, I'm not sure. Here are a couple of pics of the inverter and panel wiring issues.

Mainly I wanted to see how much damage there was.
        You have vicious squirrels!
        Are they all damaged similarly?

The wires in the panels may be able to be replaced It appears the cover to the junction box is removable. That's the easy part. I didn't see connector glands on the junction box so the connections may be potted in some sort of encapsulant.

I don't think you are going to have much luck on the inverters. I do not believe they come apart and a splice may be next to impossible. I suppose you could use one designed for 4 wire underground use that comes with heat shrink tubing. Even if this works I would suggest yet another layer of heat shrink with a marine grade tube with adhesive inside.

Your fluffy tailed rats do indeed have sharp teeth.
Your pic suggests they didn't stop when the insulation got extra chewy.
            Dayum nature, you scary.

I do think all of the inverters can be spliced and then wrapped or protected with shrink tubing etc. The panels' wiring is in some cases chewed right up to the junction box and the silicone potting material will need to be dug out in the area of the wire exit from the box and its connection. I can't really see whats under the silicone in terms of a connection but I can see a phillips screw that is somehow part of the connection. Here is a pic of the junction box with the cover removed. I have not tried to dig out the silicone but it is the soft type like we're all familiar with. I would rather let the expert who may want these panels to work on it himself.
