asdfasdf.jpg7 years ago, I designed and installed a Solar Edge system for my business,
I used a SE20K-US 480/277 inverter, two strings of 16 P700 2:1 optimizers, 64 total AstroEnergy 310w 72 cell panels.
After getting the PTO, I added 12 more panels, Silfab 350w 72 cell, to fatten up the curve, I aimed them to the southwest.
Now I want to add more southwest panels to broaden the curve late in the day.
So I found a SE33.3K-US 480/277 and P730's for a bargain price. The SE33.3K-US is working great, the P730's are New In Box.
As it sits, I am running:
24kW 3-ph 480v
Inverter SE33.3K-US -
Today I tried to add 1 540w 144/72 panel using 1 P730 to one of my strings. While I could see 21 volts on the strings (mine reads 20 volts per string with 19 optimizers), and it allowed me to publish the changes, it would not report any energy being created.
Am I going to be running up against a dead end if I want to add modern 540w panels to my system?
Why does Solar Edge say: 'You must run the strings 2:1, or 1:1, or you can add just ONE 1:1 optimizer if the rest of the string is 2:1's.
