Open SPR-8000 Inverter?

My system is 10 years old and I'm assuming the batteries in the data logger are dead. I'm further assuming it is located inside the SPR-8000 Inverter. I need to open it to check the data logger. I've googled without success how to open the inverter. Sunpower support has been worthless up to this point. I submitted a request 2 weeks ago, then got the pamphlet to check the monitoring system a day ago. The telephone support wait is ridiculously long. Any suggestions? I have a healthy respect for electricity!
